Aspera Design was commissioned to provide full design services for an apartment block in a prime residential area in Lavington, Hatheru Road, Nairobi. The client’s brief required a building architectural form that would be simple, efficient and sophisticated form that would stand out in the competitive high-end Real Estate Apartments Market. The basement accommodates car parking, the ground accommodates the entrance gate, parking and entrance lobby. The building accommodates 12 typical apartment floors and a penthouse floor. The roof top accommodates a common lounge, gymnasium, roof deck and infinity pool.

 

The building takes its distinctive form from two rectangular wedged components. Each of the rectangular components are characterised by fins that rise from the podium to the pinnacle, framing the horizontal floor plates.

The wedge on the eastern aspect of the tower forms an atrium that rises over the lobby skylight to the apex of the tower.

The building façade is further characterized by clear floor-to-ceiling glass in the living spaces, that are shaded by balconies, full-height corner windows in the master bedrooms and horizontal strip windows in the other bedrooms.
